We’re back at scouts on 10th and 12th January and we have planned an exciting programme for the term ahead. We also have Cheshire Hike to look forward to and later in the year we’ll have District Camp at Milldale.
Here’s a quick overview of what’s in store for this term. All meetings at the scout hut from 7pm unless advised otherwise. Please come in full uniform unless told otherwise.

Two teams of scouts from Willaston took part in the 3rd Monopoly Live event, organised by South West Cheshire Scouts and Crewe and Nantwich Lions Club. Our teams had to scour the length and breadth of Crewe to gain Monopoly money in return for visiting locations in the town, as well as coping with “Chance” and “Community Chest” cards issued by wandering leaders.
Our teams came 10th and 7th out of over 20 teams taking part. Well done to everyone who took part.

The Lord Derby competition tests scouts’ initiative and scouting skills in a variety of ways. After a county qualification event in March, a team of scouts from Willaston traveled to Bispham Hall Scout Estate on Sunday as one of two teams representing Cheshire in the final of this Regional event.

The Chieshire Hike is an annual event for scouts and explorer scouts and is a gruelling, two day expedition in the Cheshire countryside. This year saw two of our scouts competing in the Intermediate section.
Felix and Joe set off early on Saturday morning from Bickerton. After unpacking their kit for an inspection and weigh in, they had five minutes to plot the first part of their route before embarking on the first day’s trek. Checkpoints, challenges and observation tasks awaited, before a well-earne overnight stop.
